Holmesburg Baptist Christian Academy supports a variety of activities during the school year to enrich and support the academic and spiritual programs of the school. In addition to athletics, the students may develop and use their God given talents by singing with the Elementary School Praise Team or the Middle School Choir. All students will have the opportunity to participate in their grade levels musical productions. Kindergarten - 2nd grades traditionally perform the Christmas pageant. The spring pageant is performed by 3rd - 5th grade and Middle School performs a drama each spring. The students have already started work on the musical Annie to be performed in April 2010. Students are encouraged to develop their artistic talents through their exceptional art program. In addition to art taught in the classroom, H.B.C.A. offers a Summer Art Camp for all ages. Piano lessons are available for students in grades 2nd - 8th grades. A Middle School highlight is the retreat to Camp Sankanac. Students in 6th - 8th grade spend three days at camp. This time of spiritual growth and fellowship promises to be an experience that will give students memories to cherish. The 5th grade class at H.B.C.A. also attends Camp Sankanac for two days. Their time at camp focuses on outdoor education. It also wets their appetite for the Middle School Retreat. In addition to school-sponsored activities, H.B.C.A. has an active and supportive Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) group. This group of committed parents provides students with special activities throughout the year. This special group sponsors Pizza Lunches, The Fall Harvest Festival, The Thanksgiving Feast, The Christmas Shop and The Spring Fair just to name a few. Dress Down days are always a fun time for the students as the PTF sponsors Silly Sock Day, Crazy Hat Day, or Phillies Day. The Student Council, comprised of Middle School students, also sponsors events during the school year. Snow tubing trips, car washes, basketball shoot-outs and community service endeavors are just a few of the activities that Student Council sponsors. UPCOMING EVENTS January 14, 2011 - Friday, January 14, 2011 is a Dress Down Day for STROKE AWARENESS. This day has been designated for Stroke Awareness due to one of our school staff families being affected by this over the Christmas holidays. So wear your red clothes and donate what you like to help one of our families.
January 28, 2011 - Mix/Match Day - Students may wear mix/matched clothes to show school spirit and to raise funds for our school fair in the spring.
